‘Clematis I’, a clematis as an open edition print

An open edition print reproduced to the highest standard from a photograph of an original oil painting by Karen Hollis. This is one of four pictures created using the same palette of colours. See the full set of Clematis prints.

This is one of a set of four clematis that together show the different stages of the flower opening. The President clematis was growing very happily in my garden for 10 years and rewarded me with very large blooms twice a year. From the display of various flowers it was easy to select different angles allowing me to capture the various shades of blues and purples.” Karen Hollis

Hollis specialises in bright, bold floral paintings that are flooded with light. Her pictures of flowers capture the viewer and draw them in. A statement piece for any wall.
