'Tempestuous' - a limited edition print of a peony

£98.00

Petals turbulent as stormy seas. The bright light shining above contrasting, curling petals evokes an image of white caps atop deep sea waves. The colour contrast evoking a surfer enjoying the escapade. A simple illusion from the complexity of a peony flower.

‘Tempestuous’ a cream peony limited edition print

This cream peony limited edition print has been reproduced to the highest standards from a photograph of an original painting by Karen Hollis. This peony painting was created along with two others using the same palette of colours and they work well as a display together. See also fine art prints ‘Metamorphosis’ and ‘Cocoon’.

“I have a garden full of the most beautiful peonies called ‘Festiva Maxima’ . Every May they come into flower and give me the most beautiful snowy white display. It isn’t until I get really close that I see the flecks of crimson that give these peonies their unique charm. I spend hours capturing the way the sun falls across their petals. Then I turn them into paintings that bring out the energy of the curls and twirls.” Karen Hollis

Hollis specialises in bright, bold floral paintings that are flooded with light. Her pictures of flowers capture the viewer and draw them in. A statement piece for any wall.
